Our founders, Ralph and Evan are fans of the classics. One of these is Bay Rum as a scent. However, nothing ever truly hit the marks for either of them all the way… An Aftershave that is balanced, enduring, interesting, and affordable.

Understanding the history of Bay Rum was key.

Learning the history of this aftershave, which dates to the 1600s with the use of pimenta racemosa leaves by sailors looking to freshen up. The mixing with rum came much later….

Learning the craft.

Ralph worked on this process and recipe for 5 years. The unique blend of spices, essential oils, and soothing lipids was developed slowly and voluntarily tested by brave men (including Evan, Tom, and Paul, to name a few), not on animals. Rum is the base, with a time intensive extraction and scent maturation process.
